Photography provides an opportunity to capture special moments in time hence portraying the uniqueness of either birds, mammals, people and other photography subjects around you on the safari.

This safari will offer you a great time to areas of Samburu, Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara which we believe has diverse wildlife set against a magnificent backdrop - volcanic mountains, escarpments and vast lakes nestled in the Rift valley, savannahs with umbrella acacias, and impressive castles of termite’s mounds. For a photographer, you will not run short of photography subjects.

Day 1: Arrive in Nairobi

Upon arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, you will be met by our Driver guide and representative, and be transferred to the historic and luxurious Fairmont Norfolk Hotel for an overnight stay before heading into the African bush for your safari.

Day 2: Samburu National Reserve

Your second day begins with briefing on your safari then travel from Nairobi through the lush farming communities of Thika and shoulders of Mt. Kenya to Northern part of Kenya, the Samburu Game Reserve located in the semi arid land in the north Frontier District. The land is characterized by rugged terrains dominated by dramatic hills with acacia and Doum palm trees along the Ewaso Nyiro River, the lifeline of this beautiful arid lands and home to fantastic bird life and rare species of animals including Somali Ostrich, Besia Oryx, Gerenuk, gravy zebra, Reticulated Giraffe and Greater Kudu. The reserve is a good place to watch elephants and the big Cats. Arrive in time for lunch. Spend the afternoon at leisure before embarking on evening game drive. Have Dinner and Overnight stay at Samburu Intrepids Camp on full board basis.

Three days with game drives at Samburu National Reserve

You will spend three days at Samburu Intrepids Camp which is a delight to be in – cooled by the river breeze and the forest and sits on raised decks overlooking the brown river where the elephants sometimes make an appearance or the crocodiles come out to lounge by the river’s banks making the relaxation worthwhile. At dawn, you start your game drives and explore the beauty of the reserve and what it has to offer with optional activities like a visit to Samburu Village where we learn about the lifestyle of the Samburu tribes.

Day 6/7: Lake Nakuru National Reserve

You will depart after breakfast and drive passing through the eastern wall of the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in the afternoon enjoying an en route game drive to the lodge overlooking the spectacular flamingo pink rimmed Lake. On the second day, you will have a full day with game drives searching for the lesser and greater flamingoes including rhinos, Rothschild giraffe, huge herds of waterbuck, zebra, buffalo among others. Have dinner and overnight stay at Lion Hill Lodge .

Day 8/9/10: Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, depart and head south west to Masai Mara national Reserve arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon will be spent at leisure before embarking on our first game drive across this beautiful dotted plains of the Mara in search of game that includes big cats, Topi, hartebeest, Oribi, Grant’s and Thomson gazelle, buffalo waterbuck , vervet monkey, olive baboon as well as many other species of reptiles and amphibians.

Accommodation will be at a lodge/camp where you will spend the next two days. Game drives are flexible with other optional activities like hot Air balloon and visit to Masai village.

Day 11/12: Masai Mara National Reserve

You will have a morning game drive with picnic breakfast. Take a game drive en-route to Mara Serena lodge arriving in time for lunch. The lodge is located at Transmara Conservancy and near the crossing of Wildebeests point that happen during the months of July/October of every year. You will spend two days with game drives in search more animals.

Day 13/14/15/16: Masai Mara National Reserve

You will continue with game drives in the areas of Mara Intrepids Club. The camp is located along the Talek River with the tents facing the river. You will enjoy four more days and search for more subjects with optional activities like a visit to a local Masai village whereby you can interact with the Local people and learn of their culture and traditions.

Day 17: Depart to Nairobi

Today, you will have breakfast then bid farewell to the Masai Mara. Start your journey back to Nairobi arriving in the afternoon and transfer to carnivore restaurant for your farewell dinner before an evening transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your international flight.
