Overview

This is a 4x4 private safari available to all group sizes. The expedition begins in the Samburu National Reserve, then to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a sprawling expanse that serves as a crucial sanctuary for the endangered black rhino. Next day into the mist-shrouded Aberdare mountain range, where the lush, forested slopes harbor a wealth of biodiversity. To Nakuru and then to Masai Mara and Naivasha to unwind at Mvuke Geothermal Spa and an adventurous evening boat ride at Lake Naivasha.

Day by Day Itinerary

 

Day 1

Arrival & Overnight in Nairobi

Arrival and transfer to The Hilton Garden Inn Nairobi Airport. Booked on B&B basis. This modern hotel located next to the airport and just 15km from Nairobi's city center, shopping malls, and National Park. It offers modern stylish guest rooms, a fitness center, a snack bar/deli, and a terrace. Guests have praised the helpful staff, the hotel's proximity to the airport, its inviting and calming ambience after a long flight. A great opportunity to unwind in readiness for a 11 day long Kenya Safari.

Day 2

Samburu National Reserve

• Depart after an early breakfast to Samburu National Reserve.
• Enjoy the scenic drive through diverse landscapes, passing by farms and small towns.
• Check in at your chosen accommodation in Samburu, Samburu Sopa Lodge.
• Settle in and enjoy a delicious dinner, followed by a relaxing evening.

Day 3

Exploring Samburu National Reserve

• Embark on an early morning game drive in Samburu National Reserve.
• Experience the unique wildlife of Samburu, including the "Samburu Special Five": Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and beisa oryx.
• Spot other fascinating animals like elephants, lions, leopards, and cheetahs.
• Enjoy a leisurely lunch at your camp or lodge.
• Head out for another exciting game drive in the afternoon, exploring different areas of the reserve.

Day 4

Ol Pejeta Conservancy

After breakfast depart for Ol Pejeta Game Sanctuary situated right at the Equator zero degrees latitude o arrive in time for lunch at Sweetwaters Serena Tented Camp. Afternoon game viewing and sightseeing in Sweetwaters Game Sanctuary including a visit to the only Chimpanzee Sanctuary in Kenya. In the evening retire to Sweetwaters Serena Tented Camp.

Day 5

The Ark, Aberdare National Park

After breakfast, depart for Aberdares National Park to arrive in time for lunch at Aberdares Country Club the base hotel for The Ark.
After lunch you will be transferred to The Ark where you will spend rest of the afternoon and evening at the viewing deck watching wild animals that come at the waterhole at the base of the lodge to drink water and saltlick. Dinner and overnight at The Ark.

Day 6

Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast depart for Lake Nakuru National Park and proceed with morning game viewing as you drive through the park to arrive in time for lunch at Lake Nakuru Lodge.Afternoon further game viewing and sightseeing where you will have a chance of seeing both Black Rhino and White Rhino and flamboyance of flamingos depending on the migration pattern. Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge.

Day 7

Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast drive to Masai Mara Game Reserve proceeding through the picturesque floor of the Great Rift Valley to arrive in time for lunch at Mara Sopa Lodge.Afternoon embark on a game drive in Masai Mara Game Reserve home of “the big five”; lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo. In the evening retire to Mara Sopa Lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 8

Explore the Great Masai Mara

This and the next day are for park exploration. You are at liberty this day to discuss with your driver guide whether to take picnic lunches and spend the full day in the game reserve or return to your lodge for a hot lunch. The July-October period in Masai Mara Game Reserve attracts millions of wildebeests and zebras that cross the crocodile infested Mara River while closely followed by pride of lions making the kill be the highlight of your visit.For bird lovers, Masai Mara Game Reserve is also home of over 450 species of birdlife including birds of prey and scavengers, while cool morning hours bring out the cheetah and leopard, in search of prey. The setting sun provides spectacular photography opportunities of the rolling savannah plains. Your meals this day breakfast, lunch and dinner at Mara Sopa Lodge.

Day 9

The Crest of Safari at Masai Mara

The journey then reaches its climax in the legendary Masai Mara today, where the iconic savanna landscape plays host to the greatest wildlife spectacle on Earth – the annual wildebeest migration. Herds of thousands of these sturdy bovines can be witnessed as they make their perilous crossing of the Mara River, pursued by the region's apex predators. In the midst of this natural drama, guests have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the vibrant culture of the Maasai people, gaining insights into their traditional way of life.

Day 10

Naivasha

After breakfast depart for Lake Naivasha a fresh water oasis situated at the scenic floor of the Great Rift Valley to arrive in time for lunch at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge.
Spend rest of the afternoon at leisure enjoying the facilities of your lodge and enjoy the well-manicured lawns of grassland studded with Acacia bushes and trees, the resort is also home to resident giraffes, waterbucks and both Vervet and Colobus monkeys. Hippos leave the lake every night to come and trim the grass on the expansive lawns.
Dinner and overnight at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge. Optional activities include a visit and a dip into Africa's largest natural geothermal spa - Mvuke and an evening boat ride on Lake Naivasha

 

Day 11

Return to Nairobi

Our encounter in Kenya's wildlife gems ends with a checkout after breakfast and a drive back to Nairobi for departure home.
