Located at the Museum Hill and founded in 1909, the Nairobi Museum has numerous exhibits of the late Dr. Leakey's great findings, a collection of original artifacts from Kenyan tribes, Joy Adamson's painted images of different tribes men and women including a superb collection of mounted birds. Adjacent to the Museum is the Reptile Park which holds live snakes species, Nile crocodile, Tortoises and Terrapins as well as an aquarium with various fresh water and marine fish species.

Karen Blixen Museum

Famous for the filmed movie 'Out of Africa' and originally home of Karen Blixen who came to Kenya from Denmark in the early part of the 19th century; the present museum site is at the heart of the larger coffee plantation run by Karen Blixen between 1914 and 1931. The house and surrounding land was donated by the Danish government to Kenya at independence and restored by the Danish government.

Much of the original furniture is on display in the house, and combined with the beautifully landscaped gardens encompassing view of the Ngong Hills. It has continued to be a popular destination for introduction of what Kenya has to offer.

The original kitchen has been restored and is now open for viewing. A Dove Stove similar to the one used by Blixen is on display as are other period kitchen utensils. A drive that will take you through Kenya's modern, high- capital to the area of Karen Blixen's Farm at the foot of the Ngong hills offers a fascinating history dedicated to the Author of "Out of Africa".

Carnivore Experience

Nairobi has many restaurants offering a variety of cuisines. We recommend a dinner or lunch at the Carnivore restaurant. Carnivore is famous for its succulent steaks and barbecued dishes as an excellent compliment to a holiday in Kenya. In the style of a Brazilian churrasceria, the Carnivore restaurant is located 6 kilometers from the city center and is popular spot for meat lovers.
