Our 8 Days Great Kenya Wildlife Safari will take you through some of Kenya’s famous destinations from Aberdare National Park

is the perfect choice of game drive for people that enjoy fishing trips, mountain climbing, bird watching and hikes. The Solio sanctuary’s rare black and white rhinos, the enchanting sounds of plentiful bird species and overnight animal seeing of Aberdares will make your trip exclusive and memorable. You will be able to spot huge Elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, leopards, bushbucks, bongo antelopes and forest hog, as they quench their thirst from the near-by waterhole.

Samburu National Reserve lies on the fringes of the vast and arid desert once known as the Northern Frontier District, whose heat-scorched scrublands extend all the way to the jade-green waters of Lake Turkana and beyond. Physically dramatic.  It measures approximately 104sq. Km (approx. 65sq. miles) in size, this unfenced Savannah grassland is roughly 350km (217 miles) from Nairobi. Samburu’s diverse fauna includes rare Grevy’s Zebra, Beisa Oryx, Reticulated Giraffe, Somali Ostrich, Elephant, Lion, and Cheetah. This sanctuary awaits you with 350 bird species including the sharp Kingfisher, Sunbird, Bee-eater, Marabou Stork, Bateleur and Palm-nut Vulture.

Sweetwaters Game Reserve & Chimp Sanctuary. This 24000 acre private reserve saddling the Equator enjoys magnificent views across the plains to the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kenya, and has an abundance of wildlife and tropical vegetation. Sweetwaters Game Reserve and Chimpanzee Sanctuary is the closest reserve to Kenya’s Capital Nairobi to boast all of the “Big 5” game – Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Elephant and Buffalo.

Lake Nakuru National Park, found in the foot of the great rift valley has an elevation of 1754 meters above sea level, is home to stunning flocks of lesser and Greater Flamingos, which literally turn the lake-shores in to a magnificent pink stretch. This is the only park you are asured of seeing the rhinos in black and white and the Rothschild Giraffe.

Masai Mara Game Reserve which is the most famous for a Kenya safari. It is located southwestern of Kenya. It is  home to over 5 million animals which roam its savannahs including lions, cheetahs, leopard, hippos, rhinos, elephants, buffalos, giraffes, crocodiles, reedbucks etc. Masai Mara Game Reserve is also famous for the wildebeest Migration which is one of the “Seven New Wonders of the World.”

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Aberdare National Park

Pick up from your hotel in the morning and proceed to Aberdare National Park, which is located about 150km (93 miles) east of Nairobi. Arrive in time for lunch at the hotel and later proceed for an afternoon game drive in search of the rare black rhino, leopards, baboons, and Colubus monkey. Enjoy this beautiful scenic region which is much cooler than the savannahs and offers a completely different perspective on the country. The national park lies mainly above the tree line. The scenery is spectacular with its mountainous terrain covered in thick tropical forests swathed in mist. Dinner and overnight at Camp / Lodge.

Day 2: Aberdare National Park – Samburu National Reserve

Early breakfast at your lodge, short game en-route and Leave Aberdares National Park for Samburu National Reserve a 4 Hrs drive and you will have a stop at the Equator line at Nanyuki town near Mt. Kenya. you will arrive Samburu National Reserve with a short game drive proceeding to your Camp / Lodge for lunch and relax. Afternoon game drive across the park which is a unique resident wildlife species like the Rothschild’s Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra, Beisa Oryx and the Blue legged Somali Ostrich. Dinner and overnight at your camp / lodge.

Day 3: Full Day Samburu National Reserve

After breakfast, head out for a full day of game viewing drive in this dry semi-arid park with its striking background view of the Mathew’s Range. The surrounding terrain is renowned for rare game, -long necked gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, and the Beisa Oryx. Leopard is the frequent passer-by. Drive through the gently flowing Uaso Nyiro river which traverses this Park provides evergreen vegetation for the wildlife found in this park. Game drives and bird watching safaris are the ideal way to experience the native wildlife in its natural splendor. Dinner and overnight at your camp / lodge.

Day 4: Samburu National Reserve – Sweetwaters Game Reserve

After breakfast depart, Samburu National Reserve and drive towards Nanyuki, for Sweetwaters Tented Camp just 30 kms from the turn off to Nanyuki town. En-route we cross the equator, which is very close to the second highest mountain in Africa, the snow capped Mount Kenya. Arrive in time for Lunch and later in  the afternoon game drive where you may be able to see a variety of animals like rhino, buffalo, giraffe, and zebra and plains game. Dinner and overnight at your camp / lodge.

Day 5: Sweetwaters Game Reserve – Lake Nakuru National Park

Early morning breakfast game en-route leave Sweet Water for Lake Nakuru a 5 Hrs drive and you will pass through the Great Rift Valley escarpment, arriving in time for lunch and check in at camp / lodge. Afternoon game drive across the Pink Lake often referred so due to it’s Great masses of Flamingos not forgetting the famous white Rhino and black rhino found in this park. Dinner and overnight at your camp / lodge.

Day 6: Lake Nakuru National Park – Masai Mara Game Reserve

Early morning breakfast then leave Lake Nakuru National Park for Masai Mara Game Reserve a 5 Hrs drive, you will pass through Narok town and head to the famous Masai town. you will arrive in time for lunch. check in at your camp / lodge and have lunch and rest. Afternoon game drive through the park in search of the Lion, Cheetah, Elephant, Buffalo and a visit to Mara River. Dinner and overnight at your camp / lodge.

Day 7: Full Day Masai Mara Game Reserve

After breakfast proceed on a full day of game viewing within the reserve. The landscape here is scenic savannah grassland on rolling hills. The reserve is the best park for game in Kenya as it has an extensive road and track network which allows for close range viewing and photography. Break for your picnic lunch at the hippo pool, looking out for hippos and crocodile. Dinner and overnight at your camp / lodge.

Day 8: Masai Mara Game Reserve – Nairobi

Early Morning breakfast at your Camp / Lodge. check out of the Camp / Lodge and park and drive to Nairobi A 5 hours drive to Nairobi. arriving in time for lunch. Lunch at carnivore afterward drop off at your respective hotel or Airport around 3pm. ( Optional to our clients with evening Flights) – if you have evening flight you can do more game drive with packed lunch till around 12:00hrs lunch time, After drive to Nairobi you arrive in Nairobi at around 5 to 6 pm drop off at Airport or back to your hotel.
