Itinerary
Suggested Itinerary for 1 Night Nakuru & 3 Nights in Masai Mara
Start of Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru Safari is with an airport pickup and transfer to your Nairobi hotel on bed and breakfast basis, although it is equally okay to travel directly to Masai Mara from the airport if arriving by an early flight and if you do not mind a 5-6 hr road transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve.
Day 1: Nairobi - Lake Nakuru National Park
Lake Nakuru National Park is only 2hrs, 30 mins drive from Nairobi. The drive is very scenic and the views incredible as you drive by and into the Great Rift Valley. It is
Kenya’s second most visited park and features the popular ‘pink’ lake made famous for thousands of flamingoes and pelicans who inhabit the lake.
The park also features a rhino sanctuary, a host of other wildlife species and over 400 species of birds. The Lion Hill, located within the park is the inspiration for Walt Disney’s movie, ‘The Lion King’. Departure from Nairobi is 08h00 with a brief stop at The Great Rift Valley Viewpoint, arriving at the park gate at 11h00. Game drive enroute. Lunch is served from 12h30. Late afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at selected lodge or camp
Day 2-4: Lake Nakuru National Park - Masai Mara
We depart from Lake Nakuru National Park early in the morning after breakfast and head to the crown jewel of our safari - Masai Mara National Reserve. Relax after lunch and head for an afternoon game drive in Masai Mara till dusk. Return to lodge or camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Masai Mara - Nairobi
Enjoy an optional pre-breakfast game drive. Return to Nairobi after checking out, arriving early afternoon.
